City in a box (London project)
For "City in a box", the art group for Year 12, as well as a handful of Year 10's from Cardinal Heenan, went to some London galleries and landmarks as part of the experience for the inspiration behind "City in a box" - a project where we had to use geometric techniques in order to create a 3-D urban environment within a paper box.

We used skills such as precisely cutting, folding and sticking paper and cardboard in order to create the 3-D models; then used the glue guns to stick the models together - I created the Big Ben (Elizabeth Tower), London Eye, Shard as well as a London Overground railway bridge with a train and a passenger plane above it : the idea was to make it seem like a realistic representation of London, with its famous buildings as well as bustling transportation systems.
I used a series of skillful techniques to create the buildings - 3-D nets, cutouts as well as cardboard sticks and different textures to allow it to securely stay in place, in the end.
The experience of being a commuter; going to London by train from Liverpool, then using the underground to get around as well as trying street food and visiting busy tourist points of interests.

Fab, make sure you photograph all of page and then crop into rectangle so you show off as much great work as possible.
